Immunization Initiatives « Illinois Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics. Back to ICAAP Projects. ICAAP Immunization Initiatives focus on immunization education for providers, policy, and advocacy developed in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Public Health and the Illinois Department of Public Health. ICAAP Immunization Initiatives began with the Reaching Our Goals: Immunization Provider Education (ROG) educational program developed in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Public Heath and the Illinois Department of Public Health. The ROG office- based educational program provides healthcare providers with the ability to develop and/or increase their knowledge, skills, and professional performance on childhood and adolescent immunizations to standards recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). See below for a full list of ICAAP Immunization Initiatives. The Reaching Our Goals: Immunization Provider Education program is presented to hospitals, clinics, FQHC, and practices throughout the state. The ROG program provides pediatricians, family physicians, nurses and other pediatric health care professionals the ability to develop and/or increase their knowledge, skills, and professional performance on immunization to various standards recommended by AAP policy. Participating practices will also receive a comprehensive resource binder and reference books. The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has developed a means to share immunization records in an effort to increase immunization coverage of our state’s two- year olds to 9. To maximize effectiveness and encourage state- wide participation, IDPH will provide the system, set it up and conduct training at no charge to health care providers.
